Opinion

This looks like a good start for Microsoft, but from a data processing perspective I have one burning question: Can I use an SQL Server database as an event source? That is, can I create an event stream out of insert, update and delete statements that execute on the database server?

This thread indicates that the answer is no, at least for now.
