Clarion Word of the Day

Mike stumped Greg Bailey with these Clarion words of the day:

UPPERQUARTILE

LOWERQUARTILE

PERCENTILE

These are stats functions that work with queues that return a Real value. For more information see the Statistics Library section in the help. Keep in mind there's also a Finance Library.

Clarion smell of the week: Incomplete Library Class

Not so much a smell as a way to deal with incomplete library classes where you don't have the source.

Bruce Johnson

TIP: When searching through text you can use the Navigate Back button (even in C8).

Bruce introduced AnyText, a text translation utility. AnyText uses StringTheory and the freely available GUTS (Global UnThreaded object Store), and lets you do global translation with optional local overrides.

You can use AnyText both for terminology (dialect) changes and for multi-language support.

Other features supported include picture support (numbers, dates, times)

One of AnyText's intended uses is in NetTalk.
