Blog from July, 2012

Following the tradition established at ClarionMag, DevRoadmaps is now on its summer publication break. Normal publication will resume in September. We'll be checking email fairly regularly during the first two weeks of August. You can still subscribe to DevRoadmaps via the Clarion Magazine store, and during those first two weeks we're aiming for 72 hour turnaround to get your DevRoadmaps access migrated over from the ClarionMag site.

The office will be closed August 13-28. During this time any subscriptions purchased at the ClarionMag store will still automatically give you access to the ClarionMag back issues, but your access to this site will not be processed until we get back. Thanks for your patience.

The MDI bug

I've had several questions about apparent problems when searching for older articles. Please keep in mind that we haven't yet moved the ClarionMag content to this site, so for most archival searches you'll want to go to the search page at Clarion Magazine

Your DevRoadmaps subscription does include access to the ClarionMag archive.

We are working on moving ClarionMag content over, but we're not there yet.

You've heard about the The DevRoadmaps Clarion Library (DCL), our freely-available class library of selected code previously published in Clarion Magazine. But what if you don't know how to write or use object-oriented code? No problem - it's easy, as Dave Harms shows

In the softvelocity.clarion.thirdparty newsgroup Chris Kloss reported that Microsoft Endpoint Protection is causing data corruption in TPS files, as has been the case with Microsoft Security Essentials. Apparently MSE and MEP have a common code base. The fix: exclude your TPS directories from scanning or, as more and more devs are doing, move on to SQL.
